The webcast will begin at 1 p.m. EST (1800 GMT) and last until 3:30 p.m. EST (2030 GMT). Today, the comet is spending Thanksgiving with the sun, and will come within 684,000 miles (1.1 million kilometers) from the solar surface when it makes its close approach. The latest [video from the SOHO spacecraft](http://www.space.com/23775-comet-ison-s-tail-starts-to-bend-on-thanksgiving-sun-approach-video.html) show that the comet's tail is bending in the solar wind. It is still uncertain if the comet will survive the encounter. If it does survive, the comet could once more be visible to the unaided eye in early December. **[Comet ISON's Thanksgiving Day Sun Encounter: Complete Coverage](http://www.space.com/23724-comet-ison-complete-coverage.html)** From NASA: "Watch and ask questions as NASA solar physicists track the comet live from the mission control for NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) spacecraft during ISON’s closest approach to the sun.
